In partnership with The Princeton Review, ecoAmerica has created a system to rate the environmental performance of virtually every four year undergraduate institution in America. The college Green Ratings demonstrate how students can make their college experience, and subsequent careers, better by connecting with schools who are focused on sustainability and the future.

The success of the ratings has led to a new all-green edition, completely dedicated to green ratings called the "Guide to 311 Green Colleges," released annually on Earth Day since 2010. Integrating the Green Ratings into America's largest educational advisory company will influence students, parents, and administrators for years to come.

Dates:  Launched August 2008

Audience: Prospective four-year college and university students

Strategy: Convened and led an expert panel to develop the green ratings criteria, which connect sustainability to career preparation as well as to the quality of life on campus.

Impact: The Princeton Review Green Ratings has made sustainability a key competitive criteria within higher education.
