The following blog is a part of our American Climate Leadership Award 2025 Series.
Britt Wray is among 10 American Climate Leadership Award finalists to be recognized at the American Climate Leadership Awards Broadcast on April 16.
Britt’s work aims to help individuals and communities protect their mental health and emotional well-being in the climate crisis, in ways that co-benefit climate action. As Director of CIRCLE at Stanford Psychiatry — a research and action initiative focused on climate change and mental health in the Stanford School of Medicine — she leads work to develop and test interventions to support youth struggling with climate anxiety and frontline communities dealing with climate-related traumas. CIRCLE’s interventions incorporate climate action and community building as core components of their method, in addition to emotion regulation skills, existential resilience-building strategies, and self-care. They also train mental health professionals on “climate-aware” methods for their clinical work.
