Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action is among 10 American Climate Leadership Award finalists to be recognized at the American Climate Leadership Awards Broadcast on April 16.

Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action (SVYCA), a youth-led nonprofit founded in 2019, empowers teens and young adults to tackle climate change through policy and education initiatives. Their mission is to create a pipeline of youth leaders equipped with the knowledge and skills to advocate for impactful climate policies at local, regional, and state levels.

In 2024, SVYCA achieved significant milestones. At COP29 in Dubai, youth leaders connected with global advocates, gaining insights into international climate action. Locally, they hosted candidate forums, ensuring voters understood candidates’ positions on pressing climate issues.

Their advocacy for AB285, which mandates K-12 climate education, exemplifies their focus on climate literacy. They also partnered with schools to integrate climate concepts into curricula and hosted annual Youth Climate Summits, providing hands-on experiences that taught students how to organize, network, and lead impactful initiatives.

Join us for the American Climate Leadership Awards broadcast to honor SVYCA and the other ACLA finalists. Register Today for more information about the ACLA finalists.
