Sunrise Movement, American Climate Leadership Awards Finalist

Sunrise Movement is among 10 American Climate Leadership Award finalists to be recognized at the American Climate Leadership Summit 2020 (ACLS 2020) on March 25 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. 

Since launching in 2017, Sunrise Movement has grown from a handful of young adults to a movement that has helped mobilize hundreds of thousands of people to the streets and turned the Green New Deal from a fringe idea into the leading solution that meets the climate crisis at scale. This initiative garnered tremendous media attention in 2019 when activists staged sit-ins in lawmakers’ offices on Capitol Hill.
