American Geophysical Union’s Thriving Earth Exchange and ecoAmerica are thrilled to announce a new partnership to support projects that help communities respond and adapt to the impact of climate change on public health, the environment and infrastructure.

Thriving Earth Exchange connects communities with scientists and technical experts to help them explore priorities related to natural resources, natural hazards, climate adaptation and resilience, and much more. Past projects have focused on local concerns ranging from water quality monitoring to wildfire safety.

ecoAmerica works directly with community leaders and organizations to build institutional leadership and public support for climate solutions in the United States. The partnership will expand support for communities from ecoAmerica’s Blessed Tomorrow, Climate for Health and Path to Positive program networks.

In addition, ecoAmerica and Thriving Earth Exchange will encourage collaboration between their respective networks, including sharing resources and opportunities with one another. The organizations will also promote and participate in workshops, convenings and other events to invite participation in each other’s programs and share successes from their partnership.

Quote from Thriving Earth Exchange Senior Director Raj Pandya:

“We’re incredibly excited to collaborate with ecoAmerica and invite new and diverse communities and climate leaders to participate in community-led science. ecoAmerica’s committed faith, health and community leadership initiatives promise new opportunities for deep knowledge sharing and new partnerships amongst our respective networks.

“We look forward to a fruitful partnership with an organization that expands climate leadership beyond traditional environmental circles – and gives local leaders the tools to drive climate solutions.”

Quote from Executive Director of ecoAmerica, Meighen Speiser:

“We are excited to help our partners use community science to advance equitable climate solutions for their communities. Our partners want to further their climate leadership at all levels of impact. We look forward to collaborating with Thriving Earth Exchange to offer them new and meaningful ways to empower climate action in a critically important timeframe. Thriving Earth has been instrumental in leveraging scientific expertise in support of community-led climate advocacy, and we can’t wait to bring these wonderful opportunities to our passionate network. Our partners will benefit, and so will our climate.”
