ecoAmerica, a not-for-profit organization that is broadening public support for climate solutions by reaching one-quarter of Americans in local communities through national health, faith, and community partners, proudly announces several key leadership transitions that will further advance its mission. Geof Rochester has been named as the new Chair of the Board, Dr. Phil Sharp, who served as Board Chair for seven transformative years, will assume the role of Vice Chair, and Rose Mann has joined the staff as Vice President of Development.

Geof Rochester Appointed Board Chair

ecoAmerica is excited to announce Geof Rochester as the new Chair of the Board. Rochester brings a wealth of experience in corporate and nonprofit leadership, having held senior roles with organizations such as The Nature Conservancy, World Wrestling Entertainment, and Showtime Networks and Comcast Cable. Known for his strategic vision and consumer savvy, Rochester will guide ecoAmerica’s Board as the organization furthers its focus on broadening constituency for local climate action.

“Geof has been an excellent collaborator who has already helped ecoAmerica deliver world-class programs and engagement,” said Meighen Speiser, ecoAmerica’s Executive Director. “As we move into 2025 and scale our efforts to engage at the local level, I look forward to working with Geof to ensure our programs are welcoming to people and organizations who don’t currently see themselves as part of the climate movement.”

Thanking Dr. Phil Sharp for Seven Years of Leadership

ecoAmerica extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Phil Sharp for his exceptional service as Board Chair over the past seven years. A revered leader in environmental policy, including in his 10 terms as a US Congressperson from Indiana, Dr. Sharp has been instrumental in shaping ecoAmerica’s growth from 34 to over 110 national partners who now collectively reach over 100 million Americans. Under his leadership, ecoAmerica launched pivotal initiatives and strengthened partnerships to broaden public support for climate solutions across sectors and political affiliations. In his new role as Vice Chair, Dr. Sharp will continue to lend his expertise and leadership.

“We are immensely grateful for Phil’s years of dedicated service as Board Chair. His vision and commitment have been invaluable in establishing ecoAmerica as an organization that is single-handedly bringing more people into the climate movement than any other organization,” said Geof Rochester, the newly appointed Board Chair. “I look forward to working alongside him as we expand this critical work.”

Rose Mann Joins as Vice President of Development

Bringing over 20 years of expertise in nonprofit leadership and fundraising, Rose Mann joins ecoAmerica as Vice President of Development. In her new role, Mann will spearhead development strategies to expand ecoAmerica’s reach and impact, including support for their over 110 national partners in the health, faith, and local communities sectors. Her experience with Adrienne Arsht — Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center at the Atlantic Council and experience bringing forward innovative solutions to engage Americans in climate action at The Nature Conservancy and the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science align closely with ecoAmerica’s mission and plans to deepen local engagement.
